Jade Clarke: Netball’s incredible rise

Alasdair Hooper and Will Moulton are joined by England Netball‘s record appearance holder Jade Clarke on episode 36 of SportSpiel.

FEATURE INTERVIEW

On our feature interview section (5:03) Jade talks to the podcast about that incredible and ground breaking Commonwealth Games gold medal won by England Netball in 2018.

The record appearance maker also tells us about the Quad Series in January, the upcoming World Cup in Liverpool this year and how her and the rest of the team aspire to be role models.

She also takes us through her own netball career and how she achieved more than she ever thought she could.

PART TWO

Alasdair and Will present the news round-up (25:36) as they go through some of the important headlines that caught their eyes, including Laura Muir’s record breaking mile and how things are shaping up ahead of the start of the Formula 1 season.

In our discussion topic this week (40:29) we touch on the controversial issue of Caster Semenya as the South African runner challenges a proposed IAAF rule that would see women in track events – from 400m up to the mile – who are DSD (Differences of Sexual Development) athletes required to keep their testosterone levels below a prescribed amount.

We also hold the latest round of Ask Alasdair (57:04) where Will asks Alasdair, and then the listeners, a sports trivia question.
